Thanks
Sometimes there are days when I just want to quit taking pictures, just give it up. Sometimes I wonder if the people reading the newspaper really care or notice a picture that I've taken. To paraphrase a famous photographer.."I want to take a picture that lasts for more than one day" I just want to take a photo that someone remembers....if you cry, laugh, think or become angry then I've done my job. Today, I received a hand written thank you note from someone in a town I don't shoot in very often, thanking me for capturing a moment in the life of their family. They told me their dad was a professional photographer and it reminded them of something he would have taken......that means the world to me, what greater complement could you receive. And I can't leave out my buddy Gene who gave me the nice comment on the blog the other day, thanks Gene. It's moments like this that keep you going.

Hey Mike...just FYI, I enjoy the photos, too. I got linked here from Facedown photos on Kevin's blog long ago and have been subscribing for a while now. I go to TNC, too, and enjoy seeing what you do both for the church and otherwise. Being a graphic designer also gives me an affinity for photography, so I enjoy your work.
