No Pain No Gain

It was about 7 pm Sunday afternoon , we had the Exterra packed and was heading home after a quick overnight get away to the mountains. The sky was filled with a steady rain and I saw this little barn off the side of the road. My first instinct was to just keep going and head for some food cause the belly was rumbling. But then I thought, that might just make a good photo. So I turned around and headed back. The rain was coming down, the umbrella was buried underneath everything so I grabbed a trash bag, covered the camera and walked across the field. I had the 50mm on the D70 and set the camera to raw capture. As I walked across the field I told myself I'll always remember this picture because I'll get soaking wet taking it. Then I remembered last football season, when I got this camera wet during homecoming and it took quite a while to dry out and along the way it showed all sorts electronic misfires ( I thought it was dead) that could only be described as bizarre. Anyway, I took a couple of shots with one hand as I held the bag over the camera. In the distance I heard a car drive by and I could almost hear them saying "hey look at that nut." But the nut got the picture and the memory to go along with it.
P.S. I had to eat dinner with wet shoes and shirt, but no pain no gain.
