Do Overs

The rec. league tourney is well underway and the Mets are still alive with a win over their arch nemesis Reds 7-6 Friday night. Little League baseball is quite a trip if you sit down and think about it. Everyone (coaches, parents and kids) have their own reasons for participating, but sometimes I think the element of fun has been long forgotten. I wonder what it would be like with no uniforms, no 300 dollar bats, no fancy equipment bags and parents without bad attitudes, just kids having fun with no pressure to perform. I'd like to see just one game without any coaches or parents standing by watching with a critical judgemental eye, just letting them play and have fun like we did in the biggest backyard we could find, do overs and all. I really do love baseball.
