end of the year

I've been trying to decide on which picture to close out the year with. I chose this portrait of my bride of 16 years ( I've know her for 30). She hates it, oh well. We paddled the 7 mile trip down the canal yesterday in our kayak and I didn't even take my camera, I just wanted to enjoy the trip. we saw blue herons, several species of ducks and a couple of alligators but most of all I got spend time with my best friend. And we topped it off with a late lunch at 5 guys burgers and fries. Good day and a good year.

I find myself doing that more and more. I take my camera to concerts and other events and I have these great pictures in the end, but I feel like I wasn't really even there. Sometimes it's more important to make memories than it is to capture them on a memory card...

Yes Brent I know what you mean. There have been times when I've photographed something my kids were doing and I just stop shooting and watch just because I want to see it without looking through the viewfinder
