baby owl leaves the nest

I took the dog for a walk today and came across this baby owl who had just jumped from its nest. I could still see the white fuzzy feather fuzzy stuff falling from a nearby tree. Of course my lab wanted to eat the bird so I had to one hand the picture while holding back the 80lb dog...fun I'm sure I looked like a professional nature photographer. I heard the mother in the trees and looked for her for a while and then she flew up a little closer and I told the dog we had to go before we got a hole pecked in our head.
